Problem Reinstalling Quickbooks Yes, I know I posted this as ProSeries, but I think the Quickbooks people will probably see this too on the main forum page (aka 'limbo'). I had to restore my hard drive, and 2012 Accountant Quickbooks would no longer run. It told me to reinstall it. Easier said than done. When I try to reinstall, I repeatedly get Error 1721. I have:. Downloaded a new copy of the installer. Ran the Quickbooks cleanup tool. Disabled my antivirus. Uninstalled Adobe Flash (and tried reinstalling it). Deleted all Adobe Folders after uninstalling. (I have not deleted any registry information for Abobe Flash). Ran the Microsoft fix it tool.

Cleaned out the 'Temp' file (has Quickbooks installation files). I am the “administrator” of the computer and have even right clicked to “Run as Adminstrator”.

I would do #3 before you start with #1. If that doesn't work, I'd keep going through the links that Google finds when searching for Error 1721 Quickbooks (or I'd leave out the Quickbooks term, since it sounds like it has nothing to do with Quickbooks). I also would open up my Registry Workshop program and do a find for Quickbooks (or whatever name Intuit places in the registry for Quickbooks) and then delete everything found from the registry that pertains to Quickbooks (after uninstalling and before trying another reinstall).
